Laura V: Broken heart soul
Laura V wrote her first song at the age of nine - devastated and heart broken at the loss of her prince.... fortunately for us, as an adult she’s developed into an incredible singer/songwriter. In this Music show video podcast Laura tells us about her life, her influences (an eclectic mix featuring Prince, Grace Slick, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, Phil Collins, Pattie LaBell, Sara Vaughan, Diddy, Mary J, Aaliyah, Bon Jove & Damien Rice) and aspirations.
In 2006 Laura featured on the dance anthem 'Changes' by Chris Lake, Apollo/Universal. She also performed live on Pete Tong's Radio One show at 'Cafe Mambo' in Ibiza... the whole experience was, she says, amazing!
But it’s not all been plain sailing - having flown to LA and Chicago where she was offered a deal, the company involved had some major financial difficulties and so, as is the way with these things, Laura was disappointed as the deal collapsed.
With a firm belief that was doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, Laura was soon back writing songs and, as she says, turning everything into a positive. In this video podcast Laura also performs two songs, originally written by... her mother!
