The Blue Review: Away for the Weekend
The Blue Review hail from Chesham in Bucks, just around the corner from our video podcast studios in fact, and their inspired union of acoustic guitar, mandolin and percussion produce a very contemporary feel to “folk” music. We were thrilled when they turned up at the studios and this was in fact the first recording we did, having only recently moved in ourselves. Alas the audio wasn’t quite up to scratch for a live performance, but nonetheless there’s some great music included - Away for the Weekend harks back to a childhood of a broken home and the parental tug of love.. it’s a searingly touching song and the feelings that children caught up in this dreadful situation experience are beautifully captured.
